A tuition review committee puts careful thought and consideration into the tuition rates each year to keep them competitive while also adequately funding the preschool.
For the 2019-20 school year, it has been recommended by the tuition review committee and approved by the board to raise our registration rates to better align with our sister co-ops and to provide an income increase for 2019-2020 from which to plan our expenses. The new registration rates will be $45 for the Parent & Baby class and $90 for all other classes. The sibling discount (50% off the youngest child's registration), current tuition rates and fundraising requirements will all remain unchanged.
Tuition for May (our last month of class) is due by July 15th, or at the time of registration, if enrolling in preschool after July 15th, to maintain your space in the class.
Each school year, current children and their siblings shall have priority for registration in the following year’s class until a designated deadline. The deadline will be the Friday before mid-winter break.
If an excessive demand exists for a given class, the order of priority for the following year’s enrollment shall be: 1) continuing students; 2) those students repeating a class; 3) those students skipping a class; 4) siblings of current students; 5) children of alumni. Thereafter, advanced registration shall be open to the general public based on space availability.
When openings occur during the school year, priority will be given to current students wishing to change to classes for which they meet age requirements.
Student must be on the waiting list in order to advance or enroll, and openings will be filled in the order of the waiting list. Ties will be determined by a lottery.
Registration will not be accepted unless tuition is paid for the current year and is completely up-to-date.
Bothell Family Cooperative Preschool admits students of any race, color and national or ethnic origin.
Shoreline Community College (SCC) Tuition
Bothell Family Cooperative Preschool is an affiliate of the Shoreline Community College Parent Cooperative Preschool Program. As part of this affiliation, caregivers are enrolled as SCC students, and pay a small annual tuition to the college. This tuition covers the cost of the member's Parent Education credits.
As a student of Shoreline Community College, members are eligible for a student email and ID, along with use of SCC facilities and numerous student discounts.
Members receive six credits in the Parent & Baby, Toddlers, and 2/3s classes, and nine credits in the 3/4s and Pre-K classes per year.
SCC tuition is due either by July 15 or at the time of registration, if enrolling after July 15.
Why do we fundraise?
At BFCP we believe that quality education should be affordable and accessible to all families. Fundraising provides money for scholarships, field trips, circle time speakers, and program reserves. Program reserves ensure that the preschool can pay for unexpected expenses, such as a new dishwasher or a new roof. Fundraising is vital to our school and covers approximately 10% of our annual budget. Fundraising is critical for our school to meet the needs of our members.
What is my fundraising commitment?
There is no required commitment however the minimum recommended level of participation for each family is $80/year.
