In the 2/3s class, we focus on helping children grow socially and emotionally by modeling, guiding, and supporting proper relationship skills. Caregivers accompany their child one day a week, allowing children room to practice independence and social skills on their own. Children are encouraged to serve themselves at snack time, including pouring their own drinks and scooping their own food from serving dishes. Circle time is a fun, active period that engages children with music, dance, puppets, and stories, while gently teaching basic classroom routines, such as sitting in a circle, following directions, and taking turns.

Caregivers are also students at Bothell Family Cooperative Preschool. As an affiliate of Shoreline Community College (SCC), members participate in parent education. We place a high value on exposing caregivers to best practices that will support and equip them on their journey. Every other week caregivers will participate in small-group discussions during class time.  Quarterly evening parent meetings often include speakers on a variety of preschool development and parenting topics. Families pay an annual SCC tuition, which is then used to subsidize educators' salaries.
