The need for a strong community who understands and can normalize the joys and challenges of parenting doesn't stop after your preschool co-op years are over. As your child transitions to elementary school and grows more independent, having a supportive group to lean on and help you navigate this new stage of development is so important.
This class is designed for parents to share their experiences, learn practical evidence-based strategies, and become more aligned with their values and goals as a parent. Our curriculum places a high value on positive discipline, emotion coaching, learning to hold curiosity for what our children are experiencing and feeling, and seeing children as capable individuals deserving of respect and love. Each topic and lesson addresses both the needs of the parent and the needs of the child.
Caregivers are also students at Bothell Family Cooperative Preschool. As an affiliate of Shoreline Community College (SCC), members participate in parent education. We place a high value on exposing caregivers to best practices that will support and equip them on their journey. Families pay an annual SCC tuition, which is then used to subsidize educators' salaries.
